James F. Spiering

James F. Spiering has built his career on one type of work: representing people who have been seriously injured by someone else's negligence. He founded Spiering Law so that injured Californians on the central coast could have access to experienced trial counsel without ever having to write a check up front.

Admitted to the State Bar of California, James handles auto accident, personal injury, premises liability, and wrongful death cases throughout Monterey County and the surrounding region. Over the course of his practice he has resolved hundreds of injury matters through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and trial, and he prepares every file as if it will be tried to a jury.

His philosophy is simple. Insurance carriers respond to two things: evidence and preparation. When a claim is documented carefully, supported by the right experts, and pursued by an attorney who is genuinely willing to try the case, the value of the file goes up and clients receive what they are actually owed. James does that work himself, on every case, from start to finish.

Outside of legal work, James is committed to the Monterey Bay community. He understands the roads, the hospitals, the employers, and the realities of life here, and that local knowledge informs how he prepares each case. He is also proud to serve Spanish-speaking clients directly, because the legal system should not be harder to navigate for the people it most often affects.
